Martin Fautley was a secondary school teacher for many years before returning to full-time study at Cambridge, where his work involved assessment, the creative process, and the interfaces between the two. He then worked at Manchester Metropolitan University before coming to Birmingham City University. He is now a Professor of Education, and coordinates the work of the Centre for Research in Education.
