#mufu2014 Yoga with Safiya Juma

Safiya has been practising kundalini yoga for 3 years and completed her level 1 teacher training with Amrit Nam Sarovar School in the UK & France. Safiya is a member of the Kundalini Yoga Teachers’ Association (KYTA) and she currently teaches in Bedford.

Safiya will be leading a relaxation session at #mufu2014.

Kundalini yoga is also known as the yoga of awareness – something particularly important for teachers, who interact with young people on a daily basis. Increasing our self-awareness can make us better teachers and even better musicians.

We’ll be moving through gentle postures, chanting some musical mantras and finishing with ‘meditation for a calm heart’ to uplift, energise and prepare us for day 2 of #mufu2014!

Being a teacher can be stressful: here are some good foods to eat at times of stress – the first 3 can easily be kept in classrooms as snacks:

  1. Almonds
  2. Bananas
  3. Sunflower seeds
  4. Spinach
  5. Broccoli
